Santorini: Days 2 & 3

This trip has been amazing, so far, the next place has been better than the last. I know I said Mykonos was paradise, that would make Santorini SUPER Paradise. Is that even possible?

The last couple of days have been jam packed with things. I will preface this by saying that we are definitely keeping it vacation-style and waking up around 11 AM. The days are super long so we don't feel too bad. Yesterday we rented a car. Driving in Santorini is crazy, interesting, only for maniacs fun. We drove to the Black Beach, Red Beach and Oia. Last night we had an amazing dinner in Ammoudi Bay which consisted of octopus and stuffed eggplant. We've also had at least one gyro a day. I'm going to miss this place!

Today we did some souvenir shopping and then went in search of a church. Okay that sounds kind of weird since there is a church every 20 steps here. We were looking for the church that is in every picture of Santorini and the most famous church out here. Come to find out that the church is in THE most remote area possible. It's on the side of a cliff on a rock named Skaros, accessible only by a foot path, and not only that, but you can't even really see it until you get there. So, I talked Alex into taking the trek. We started our journey and there was absolutely no one else doing it. This was serious stuff...one wrong step and your swimming with the fishes. Literally. We went around the entire path until it ended..NOTHING. I was so disappointed. We made our way back and saw a couple coming from a tiny tiny narrow path below ours. We got curious and waited from them. In broken English, the German couple comfirmed that we took the wrong path and probably the hardest path. They were at the church so at least we know that it exists. We, and by that I mean me, were beat from the climb and the sun was merciless. So we are going to try again tomorrow. I know, we're crazy, but I can't leave here without a picture of that church! I'm on a mission now. I'll post pictures of Skaros and the church tomorrow (hopefully!)

In the meantime, here's a little of what we've done the last couple of days:

Mykonos: Day 2

Today we went took a ferry to the archaeological island of Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. We checked out some ruins and then headed to Paradise Beach. The weather here is amazing - sunny, big blue skies with no clouds in sight. Tomorrow afternoon is our last day in Mykonos and then we head to Santorini. Stay tuned for more pictures!

Mykonos: Day 1

Our last day in London was spent revisiting some sights, going to park, checking out a museum, and all around taking it easy. On Monday morning, we started our trek to Greece. The weather in London was wonderful up until our travel day. It was so bad in fact, that there were power outages causing our train to the airport to be cancelled. We were rerouted and had to take a bus. The only problem was that 300 other people were also waiting in the pouring rain for a bus that held about 100 people! So we had to take a very expensive cab ride in order to not miss our flight.

Hectic day but it was all worth it. Mykonos is paradise. It really is like a dream. So much so that I couldn't wait to post pictures.

A little slice of heaven...

Our home for the next couple of days - Hotel Tagoo - highly recommended!

London: Days 1 & 2

I can't believe 2 days have already come and gone! We've done so much in such little time. London is absolutely amazing, better than anything I hoped for and better than any picture I've ever seen. We've picked up a pretty brilliant English accent...yup...in just 2 days mate. Today we had the chance to met up and sightsee with Simon and Sonya, whom we met while on our honeymoon in Thailand. The weather today was gorgeous! Tomorrow is supposed to rain but we have our fingers crossed that it won't. As far as what we've done so far...here is a little montage of my take on London.

My favorite picture of the day. The train is blurred which is a dead giveaway that Alex took it.

'I hold it, you push the button' shot.

With our English blokes, Simon and Sonya at Wellington Arch, NOT Marble Arch (inside joke)

New Feature

Want to know how to kill time on a 7 hour flight when you can't sleep? Edit pictures and make a slide show! Unfortunately, I was only able to kill 2 hours of my flight time since my laptop battery died. Scroll down to the end of Liliana's maternity post to see a small slide show I put together. Just click the play button on the bottom right hand corner to start automatically, or click through the pictures manually. I'm very excited about my new feature. I've been wanting to incorporate a nice big slide show at the end of all my sessions but hadn't found the right software or even how to post it on Blogger.

I don't do this enough but I want to encourage you to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the new feature or anything else that's on your mind!

Bangers & Mash | Gyros & Kalamata Olives

We're crazy. We started packing at 2AM last night and then at 4AM we watched last weeks episode of LOST. Took a 2 hour cat nap, woke up, got ready and now we are at the airport. So we're running on little sleep but who cares! We're going on vacation!! Today we are headed to London and then to Greece. I'm nothing short of hopping on one foot with excitement. So bangers and mash in London, and Gyros and lots of kalamata olives in Greece. I will be back June 3rd and in the meantime...I will be updating the blog with photos from our trip and Liliana's slideshow.

Alex and I, 2 seconds ago, happy as can be to be going on vacation!

Liliana | Maternity

Yay!! An update with pictures! Today was super fun. I had the chance to photograph Liliana who is pregnant with her first baby. You're not going to be able to tell from the pictures because she's tiny, but she's 40 weeks along and looking fab-u-lous! Here are some of my favorites from today:

LOVE this wall. LOVE this picture. Hands down my favorite of the day.

Do you see what I mean about looking fabulous? About 10 minutes before this, some guys driving by made it a point to YELL out their window "You take that picture guurlll..You look goooood!!"

I couldn't resist a shot of the killer shoes Liliana was wearing. 40 weeks and in stilettos. Can't get anymore fab than that.

Liliana: I had a great time photographing you today and getting to know you better! Can't wait to met your baby boy!

Mami

I have been such a bad bad blogger these last couple of weeks. It has been and it will continue to be a crazy couple of weeks. However, I couldn't let today pass without at least a little blurb. I want to wish all the mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day. As the day comes to an end, I hope that it was spent with the people you love the most. A big kiss to my friends and family that are mothers. A special MUAH to my Mami, who is also my best friend, my unconditional supporter, and personal fan club! She's having knee surgery this Thursday, please keep your fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!
